In 2010 De Niro ranked fifth among the world's best dressage sires, in the UK all his foals were given premium by the Oldenburg verband. In addition we have had 90% in foal rates with both chilled and frozen semen, and again in 2011.
Among his most successful offspring currently, you find the WC team bronze winner, German Vice Champion and Medien Cup winner, Dablino, ridden by Anabel Balkenhol, the three-time EC gold winner in the class for young dressage riders, D'Agostino with Fabienne Lütkemeier, the EC team gold winner in the class for young dressage riders, German Champion and World Champion of young dressage horses, Deveraux OLD with Sanneke Rothenberger, the talented young Grand Prix star, Delgado with Beatriz Ferrer-Salat/ESP, and the winner of the German Dressage Derby, Desperados, ridden by Falk Rosenbauer. Desperados is now ridden by Kristina Sprehe, and on the short list for the German Olympic team 2012.
In 2013 Desperados and D'Agostino, both by De Niro, helped the German dressage team win the gold medal at the European Championships in Herning.
Also on 2013 De Niro sired the Oldenburg licensing champion Don Deluxe (see page) later sold to Andreas Helgstrand for €910,000.
Desperados is just one of more than 60 licensed De Niro sons, including the Reserve Champion and three-time State Champion, Depardieu, now ridden by Emma Hindle/GBR, the winner of the Hanoverian licensing and stallion performance test, Dancier, who sold to the State Stud in Celle for 220,000 Euros. His son, Desert Moon, the 2nd Reserve Champion in 2001, sold for 530,000 D-Mark.
De Niro has also sired countless auction horses that bring top prices such as the stallion performance test winner, Duke of Oldenburg, who recently sold for 300,000 Euros.
De Niro is also found again and again as the dam's sire in the pedigrees of outstanding performance horses. For example, the Champion Stallion, Hotline, who broke the Stallion Market price record, selling for 800,000 Euros or the current Oldenburg Champion Mare, Fifty-Fifty. De Niro's daughter Edina became the 2010 Oldenburg Champion Mare and his daughter Die Weingard had been the 2000 Reserve Champion Mare in Rastede. The career of this black stallion with jewels in his pedigree, including Donnerhall, Akzent II, Wiesenbaum xx and Ferdinand, in key words: 1997 Reserve Champion of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf with the best score for rideability, first places in Grand Prix in 2000 at the age of seven, German Champion of Professional Riders under his trainer, Dolf-Dietram Keller, in 2001, first place in the Grand Prix Special Tour of Saumur/FRA in 2002, placings in the Piaff Sponsorship Prize in 2006 and Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2008. De Niro is also the damsire of Bretton Woods and his brother Chagall (the holder of the highest breeding value for dressage in the KWPN).
If you are wanting to improve on hind leg action, and produce commercial dressage horses look no further. De Niro is also renowned for his temperament, and therefore producing rideability.
