About - DSP Araldik is a beautiful, modern sport horse with both the athleticism, technique and attitude that make him a top prospect in both sport and breeding.
Performace - Araldik was licensed in 2009 in Brandenburg, where he received a Premium Stallion accolade. His charisma, exemplary free jumping, outstanding canter and great energy were remarked on. In his brilliant first show season he dominated against strong competition with his rider Bastian Freese. After several wins and high placings with consistently good reviews, he proved himself at the Bundeschampionat in 2012 becoming five-year-old Vice Bundeschampion. Due to his sporting successes Araldik received an award from his breeding society and carries the word 'DSP' for 'German Sport Horse' in his name. 2013 was also successful for DSP Araldik. Several times he won tests for young jumpers with a score of 9.0 and qualified for the National six-year-old Championships in 2013 with a score of 9.2 points.
Sire - Araldik's sire is the wonderfully modelled stallion Askari, who carries a distant double dose of showjumping supersire Cor de la Bryère. Askari was Vice Bundeschampion like Araldik, and is successful up to advanced level jumping. His offspring are proving themselves now - Asca Z won the Nations Cup in Calgary, and Aragon Z won the World Cup Grand Prix at Verona. DSP Alice caused a stir on the international scene in 2017; in her first season at grand prix level, Alice picked up 8 international wins and 12 top-10 placings, including 4th in the World Cup qualifier at Stuttgart, where she also won a further two classes. Askari is a grandson of Ahorn Z via his most influential son, Acord II, who was also Vice Bundeschampion, and who won his performance test with scores up to and including 10 for his jumping.
Damline - Dam Hera is by the Thoroughbred Heraldik xx, sire of eight international CCI4* event horses, including Happy Times, Harry Belafonte, Butts Avedon, Butts Abraxxas and Butts Leon. Happy Times has an outstanding record, with nine completions at CCI4* level, five of those in the top ten, including twice 3rd at Burghley and a 4th at Badminton. He has won and been placed at CIC3* World Cup level, and has represented Australia at the Olympic and World Equestrian Games. Likewise, Butts Abraxxas has finished 4th at Burghley and 2nd at Badminton with Ingrid Klimke. The partnership competed at 6 championships for Germany in a row from 2007 to 2012, winning team gold at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, as well as the 2011 Europeans. Butts Abraxxas finished in the top 10 at CCI/CIC3* and CCI4* level 20 times. Butts Leon, after an outstanding career at top level with Germany's Andreas Dibowski, including a win at Luhmühlen CCI4* in 2011, was sold to Thailand's Nina Ligon, and took her to the London 2012 Olympics after less than a season together. This is a testament to the temperament and rideability of the offspring of Heraldik, as well as their soundness; Leon competed at FEI level for eleven consecutive seasons.
Progeny - Araldik's offspring inherit his movement and elasticity and he stamps them with excellent frames. In his first crop he has already produced top auction horses and champion foals.
