About - Cornet's Stern is a fantastic stallion, who posesses all of the talent of his father, combined with an easy, rideable temperament. Following his successful young horse career, he was sold to an amateur rider from Mexico, and jumped successfully with her up to 1.50m level; a testament to his trainability and willingness.
Performance - At the 2008 Bundeschampionat, Cornet's Stern dominated in the qualifiers and carried this through to the final, winning easily on a score of 9.3, having scored three successive 9.0's in the first three rounds. He competed in the Lanaken 'Sires of the World' grand prix as just an eight-year-old, and then jumped internationally under Mexican Ariana Azzcarraga.
Sire - Cornet Obolensky competed in the 2008 Olympics at the young age of nine. He is a foundation stallion in the breeding of modern jumping horses, and is currently ranked third in the 2016 WBFSH Sire Rankings. The total earnings of his offspring, including former World Number One Cornet D'Amour, Cornado NRW, Cornet's Cristallo, Cocoshynsky, Cornetto King, and Comme Il Faut, are over €3.7 million. The Clinton/Heartbreaker cross is a proven formula that has produced multiple grand prix jumpers including Cordess and Consul DL Vie Z, and 18 licensed stallions.
Damline - His full-brother Cotopaxi 7 is a licensed international grand prix stallion, who has picked up several top-10 placings internationally at 1.30-1.40m level. Their brother Cornedo 2, by Condiro, is also licensed, and Alemao (by Arpeggio) jumps at 1.45m level. The dam also produced the grand prix dressage horse Fantomas IV, by Florestan, who has scored over 75% at international grand prix level. Cornet's Stern's half-sister Papyon, by Polydor, has produced three international grand prix horses in addition to the licensed stallion Con Polydor; a fantastically successful direct damline. In the wider damline is Gladdys S, who was internationally successful at 1.60m level under Ludger Beerbaum. The damsire, Pilot was the youngest horse in Germany to win €1million in prize money, and has produced top show jumpers such as Aachen World Championship finalist Pialotta, and Ludger Beerbaum’s team World Champion Priamos.
Progeny - Cornet's Stern offspring are already impressing on the international stage, including the 1.60m jumper Jazoe van't Steenpal and more than 40 offspring jumping internationally. Coloman's Cornet was the winner of the 7/8-year-old final in Vilamoura, while Neugschwent's Castella won the equivalent class in Münchem-Riem. His approved son Cornettino ASK was champion of the 2012 Oldenburg licensing, and was placed in the five-year-old final in Falsterbo.
