About - Descending from one of the finest pedigrees in the world, Crown Z jumped successfully at grand prix and is now proving as successful in breeding as he was in sport. He is a compact, light-footed stallion with a fantastic technique and excellent rideability.

Performance - Under Christian Ahlmann, Franz-Josef Dahlmann, and Judy Ann Melchoir, Crown jumped at the very top level, with top-10 placings in Lanaken, Mechelen, Wiesbaden, and Cannes, all the way up to 1.60m level.

Sire -  Carthago Z was the most influential son of the foundation sire Capitol I. He jumped in two Olympic Games with Jos Lansink, finishing 11th individually at Atlanta in 1996, jumped on winning Nations Cup teams in Rotterdam, Aachen and La Baule, and won numerous grands prix all over the globe. He has over 100 licensed sons, and over 150 offspring jumping at grand prix level. His progeny include Cicero Z, Old Chap Tame, Mylord Carthago, Davos, Cappucino, Cash 63 and Coltaire Z. He is also the sire of a CCI4* eventer in Cadoc Z.

Damline - Crown's damline is among the best in the world. His dam Ratina Z is probably the most successful mare in the history of the sport; she won back-to-back team golds at the Barcelona and Atlanta Olympic Games with two different riders, and also took home individual silver from Barcelona. She won the World Cup in 1993 and the Grand Prix of Aachen in 1996, team gold at the World Championships in Den Haag in 1994 and double gold at the European Championships in Mannheim 1997. Such was her prowess that she was one of the first horses to be cloned - there are three Ratina Z clones currently being used for breeding. Ratina's other offspring include Marcus Ehning's superstar Comme Il Faut, and the 1.50m jumpers Rex Z and Treasure Z. Her full-sister Renomee Z also jumped at grand prix and produced the popular stallion Amiro Z, while Ratina's daughter Calipa Z is the dam of four licensed sons and four grand prix horses, including Cayetano Z and Chicago Z. Ratina's sire Ramiro Z was not only a hugely successful competitor in his own right, but also has more than 60 licensed sons.

Progeny - Crown is the sire of several grand prix horses and top quality offspring including Cederic Z, MTM Reve du Paradis, Rana des Hayettes, C. Amalia Z, Calgary Mury Marais Z, Crocus Mury Maria’s Z, Rocker D’Ysieux, Crannus Z, Cassis Ten Halven Z, and Carla de Kalvarie Z. His offspring stand out for their modern type, and their good trainability and brains.
