About - Cumberland, an internationally successful son of the legendary Calvaro Z is finally ready to take on the breeding scene. In addition to his muscular build, the strong-type stallion scores with outstanding assets and an energetic, sporty canter. After his licensing in Vechta in 2010, Cumberland's focus has so far been exclusively on sport. After he had qualified for the Bundeschampionat several times, he was able to gain a foothold in the international jumping circus.
Performance - Over the years Cumberland has competed at a number of top shows, with rider Tobias Meyer Cumberland placed second at the CSI4* in 2019, having placed countless times at shows internationally this stallion is ready to prove himself as sire. With some of the strongest bloodlines and background in sport we have high hopes for this horse.
Sire - His Holstein father Calvaro Z was under Dr. Michael Rüping, Jos Lansink and John as well as Michael Whitaker a world class jumping horse. He had a breeding influence on all European jumper populations. Calvilot (Andreas Kreuzer), Night Train (Darragh Kerins), Katchina Mail (Patrice Delaveau) and LB Callas Sitte are just a few of his most successful offspring. As one of two Calvaro Z sons licensed in Germany, Cumberland is particularly important. Cumberland is a horse where talents lie in its blood, grandam Alanda (by Le Mexico) competed internationally under Pieter Kersten and also produced the international showjumpers It's The Business and Galanda. The international showjumper Now or Never (by Burggraaf) is a son of Galanda, and the damline goes back to a full sister of the stamping stallion Victor via the blood of Kartouche (by Gondelier) and Boris (by L'Invasion). This family has also produced the legendary Olympic showjumping stallions Darco and Arko III.
Damline - Cumberland's dam Ferina is a daughter of the stallion Landadel, who, like Calvaro Z, produced exceptional horses in series (Fein Cera, Lucie, Lady Weingard and many more). Both Ferina and Cumberland's half-brother Al Capone (from Azarro) were placed in the difficult class in the course. Timeless heroes of Hanoverian jumper breeding follow in the pedigree with Prince Ferdinand, Gotthard, Lasso and Agram. The Hanoverian strain of the free area is a performance strain from which licensed stallions such as Freiherr, Fürst Agram and Goldschläger Z emerged, but above all top show jumping horses such as Aquila HDC (Patrice Delaveau), Clintissima (J. Patterson-Robinson), Zeke (Jenna Thompson) and the OS Champion Mare Walmeria (Pius Schwizer).
