About - Desperados FRH was the top-ranked competing grand prix stallion in the world in the February 2017 FEI Rankings. He is an elegant, yet powerful, stallion who performs the grand prix work with ease, demonstrating exceptionally strong rhythm and balance, and a calm temperament even when competing in the most high-pressure competitions in the world.

Performance - Desperados has never finished lower than eighth individually at the five championships he has attended, and has never gone home without a team medal. He has three team golds (Rio 2016, WEG 2014, Herning 2013), a team silver (London 2012), a team bronze (Aachen 2015), in addition to two indiviual silvers (Aachen 2015) and two individual bronzes (Rio 2016, WEG 2014). In his international career with Kristina Bröring-Sprehe, he has never scored below 71%, and in the previous two season he has scored 80%+ on all but three occasions; in the freestyle at the Rio Olympics, he scored 87.142%.

His career as a young horse was equally impressive; he was a main premium stallion at the 2001 Hanoverian licensing, having already completed his 30-day test with the highest scores (a 9.5 for his canter, 9.0 from both guest riders). He won the 3yr old ridden championships in Verden, and was bronze medallist at the Bundeschampionat both 2004 and 2005.  In 2010 he won the German Dressage Derby in Hamburg, and was placed in the final of the Median Cup.

Sire - Sire De Niro needs no introduction. In 2016, he topped the WBFSH Sire Rankings for the fourth time. De Niro has enjoyed a phenomenal career in both sport and breeding; he has produced countless grand prix horses, winning medals at the highest levels. The De Niro/Weltmeyer cross has also produced Delgado (individual bronze, Aachen 2015), Super Nova II (team silver, Rio 2016), plus grand prix stallion Danone I and his full brothers Danone II (now deceased) and Der Designer, both winners at Inter II.

Damline - His dam Wie Musik is a daughter of Wolkenstein II, a son of the great Weltmeyer. Wolkenstein II has sired 16 grand prix horses, including Carl Hester's national champion Wanadoo, and the licensed GP stallion Welfenkonig. The damline has also produced the licensed sons Quvee D'or, Sophokles, Don Nobless, Don Marcello, Lorenzo Lamas, Temple Der Konig, Condiro, Scarosso, and Rocko Barocko. Wie Musik also produced Donna Musica (by Don Frederico) who is the dam of premium stallion Frascino.

Progeny - Desperados' daughter Doris Day was Hanoverian champion, and then Bundeschampion. His sons regularly license, such as Destano, Double Dancer, and premium stallion Descurio, and in 2011 Destano won the Main Premium at the Oldenburg licensing. In total, he has 25 licensed sons, and his oldest offspring are starting to emerge successfully at grand prix.
