With Escalito, the Klosterhof presents another modern top stallion: the second runner-up of the North Rhine-Westphalian main licensing. This stallion owns a beautiful face and a good neckline and he captivates with his athletic body and correct foundation. Escalito has sensational movements and shines with outstanding trot mechanics.
His very special pedigree makes him highly interesting for breeding: the successful and up-to-date blood of Ehrentusch combined with the pure Holstein jumping line 3558. Multiple champion Escolar qualified with 80 % for the final of the Nürnberger Burgpokal under his rider Hubertus Schmidt. He creates quite a stir with his offspring in Westphalia. The grandmother is full sister of international jumping horses BB Cayenne and Miss Saigon (1.60 meter jumping). The dam line provided among other the licensed stallions Calesco and Casenius by Colman, Contrache by Contender, Conraldik by Contender and the international show jumpers Gran Corrado - Yves Houtacher and Constante - Rodrigo Pessoa.
We think that Escalito with his strong jumping blood is a perfect addition to our breeding station in our mission to foster a powerful lift-off of the hind hooves and strong backs.
In 2018, Escalito finished his 14-day-performance-test with the score of 9.0 points for rideability. Escalito won and was placed in riding horse tests.
In 2019, Escalito won and was placed in riding horse tests. He successfully finished the second part of his sports test in Verden. His first year of foals captivates with large frames and very good movements.
Escalito is a stallion who should be able to improve trot and gallop and who could be of interest especially for large framed mares.
Sire - Escolar has been in the spotlight with Hubertus Schmidt recently, and was announced as the joint-leader of the German Breeding Value Index at the end of 2017, reflecting his success as both a stallion and a competitor. Escolar was Westfalien champion and double Bundeschampion, scoring a 10.0 for his trot and canter and a score of 19.5 out of 20 from the two test riders as a three-year-old. Escolar was runner-up in the final of the 2017 Nürnberger Burg Pokal for developing PSG horses, and then went on to claim the Siegerpreis for a superb freestyle at the same show. Escolar has consistently scored +70% on his international appearances at small tour level.
Escolar's early offspring have been much sought after, and he provided the reserve champion mare at the 2017 German Mare & Foal Championships, plus the third-placed mare at the Westfalien Mare Championships. His daughter Eyleen was bronze medallist at the 2017 Bundeschampionat and the price highlight of the 2017 Westfalien Auction, selling for €150,000.
His sire Estobar was the champion of the 2006 Westfalien licensing, selling for €535,000, and competed up to grand prix. He is the full brother of licensed stallions Eichendorff and Ehrendorf, who also both competed at the highest level. Their sire Ehrentusch was famed for his temperament and rideability and also produced the state stud stallion Ehrentanz. Ehrentusch was the champion of the 1987 stallion performance test at Warendorf, finishing first in both the dressage and jumping sections. At the 1989 DLG show in Frankfurt, he was reserve only to Weltmeyer. The 'E' Line has produced a number of successful sport horses in both jumping and dressage, and Ehrentusch's full brother was Klaus Balkenhol’s international dressage star, Ehrengold.
Damline - Escalito's grand-dam is the full-sister of international grand prix jumping horses BB Cayenne and Miss Saigon I. The damline has produced, among others, the licensed stallions Calesco and Casenius (by Colman), Contrache and Conraldik (by Contender), Lavarino (by Lavall I), and the international show jumpers Gran Corrado and Constante.
