Ordering and Delivery

If this is your first time ordering semen, the process may seem confusing! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us, either by phone on 01837 880100, or by email at office@elitestallions.co.uk, and we will be happy to help.

Before ordering, please be aware of how Public Holidays may affect your delivery.

Chilled semen

  • Login, or register for a new account. When registering for a new account, please ensure you click the validation link sent to your email. If you do not receive this email shortly after registering, please check your Junk email folder. 
  • Fill in your details, and your billing and delivery addresses. Please double-check your delivery address. 
  • Add your mare's details under the 'My Mares' page of your account. You will need to enter the mare's life number (the same as her passport number) before you can order semen. 
  • Choose your stallion, select the mare, and confirm if the mare will carry the foal herself or if you will use her for embryo transfer. Please ensure you read and understand the specific stud conditions for embryo transfer.
  • Add the stallion to your basket and checkout. The relevant health papers and shipping charges will automatically be added.
  • Orders must be paid for before any semen can be dispatched. 
  • If your chosen stallion is actively competing, please either contact us yourself, or ask your Vet/Stud to contact us, the week before semen will be required to double check availability. 
  • The day before you require the semen to be delivered, please phone Elite Stallions between 6.30am and 9am (before 8am for Blue Hors and Zangersheide) to order.
  • Please DO NOT text, email or leave a voicemail; please ensure you speak directly to either Lorna or Storm to place your order. 
  • Elite Stallions will arrange for semen to be delivered at the earliest possible time the following day; this will vary depending on your delivery postcode. 
  • We will track the shipment and contact you and/or your Vet/Stud in the event of any delays. 
  • The semen arrives and your Vet/Stud inseminate the mare. 
  • Hopefully the mare is in foal!
  • Generate your covering certificate - please see the Foal Registration page for more details. 

Frozen semen

  • Login, or register for a new account. When registering for a new account, please ensure you click the validation link sent to your email. If you do not receive this email shortly after registering, please check your Junk email folder. 
  • Fill in your details, and your billing and delivery addresses. Please double-check your delivery address; this should be the Vet/Stud who will store the frozen semen. 
  • Ensure your Vet/Stud has a Nitrogen storage tank to store the semen, in addition to the relevant insurance. We ship from Stallion AI Services to your Vet/Stud in a Vapour Shipper, please ensure the Vet/Stud are aware that once the shipper is opened, the semen must be moved to a Nitrogen storage tank. We cannot accept liability for semen that is incorrectly handled or stored.
  • Add your mare's details under the 'My Mares' page of your account. You will need to enter the mare's life number (the same as her passport number) before you can order semen. 
  • Choose your stallion, select the mare, and confirm if the mare will carry the foal herself or if you will use her for embryo transfer. Please ensure you read and understand the specific stud conditions for embryo transfer.
  • Add the stallion to your basket. The relevant health papers will automatically be added, shipping costs will be calculated at checkout.
  • Checkout and pay for the semen. Orders must be paid for before any semen can be dispatched. 
  • The day before you require the semen to be delivered, please phone Elite Stallions between 9.00am and 11am to order.
  • Please DO NOT text, email or leave a voicemail; ensure you speak directly to either Lorna or Storm to place your order. 
  • Elite Stallions will arrange for semen to be delivered the following day; you can choose from the available time-slots at checkout. The available options will vary depending on your delivery postcode. 
  • We will track the shipment and contact you and/or your Vet/Stud in the event of any delays. 
  • The semen arrives, and when your mare is ready, the vet proceeds with the insemination. 
  • Hopefully the mare is in foal!
