About - Innovation is the first KWPN approved stallion of the successful showjumping stallion Van Gogh. This beautifully modelled stallion was approved in the autumn of 2016, and received high scores during his performance test, with no marks below an 8.0. His test report emphasises his strong, correct, and appealing type and conformation. He is forward-going, willing to work, and has good balance and a light-footed canter that covers the ground, combined with a fast, powerful take-off and good reflexes. The report states that he has a lot of ability and talent, and gives his rider a very good feeling.

Sire - Van Gogh is an incredibly versatile stallion; an active grand prix jumping stallion himself, he has offspring competing internationally in all three disciplines in 2017. He is ranked inside the WBFSH top 100 for eventing and dressage, and is the highest ranked offspring of Numero Uno in the jumping rankings. Van Gogh is a pure athlete, who scored 9.5 for his canter at his performance test and who has three excellent basic gaits, making him an exciting stallion in any discipline. Van Gogh was the undisputed champion of the 2005 KWPN licensing, rewarded for his great jumping skills but also his fantastic movement. He is currently competing very successfully under Marco Kutscher, and his numerous victories include the 2015 Los Angeles Longines Masters, the Valkensward GCT, a 1.50m grand prix at the CSI5*-W in Zurich, and the 2015 Hong Kong Masters. In 2013 Van Gogh was ranked second in the KWPN stallion rankings, and in 2016 they were shortlisted for the Olympic Games. He was second in the Shanghai GCT, and has twice jumped in Nations Cups for the ultra-competitive German team. His daughter Calimera won the silver medal at the six-year-old World Young Horse Championship in Lanaken. His son Cosmo was part of the German Olympic gold medal-winning dressage team at Rio 2016, and he has several offspring eventing at CCI/CIC2* level. His jumping offspring are winning internationally at 1.40m level, including Vallejo, winner of the CSI2* at Riesenbeck.

Damline - Dam Athendra is a daughter of the well-known progenitor Contendro I, who has delivered more than fifty grand prix horses and who is bred out of one of the most renowned dam lines in German breeding. Athendra is a state premium mare, and was amont the best mares of her year. She was additionally rewarded with the Oldenburg elite predicate. It is no surprise that the KWPN praised this mare in their damline report at Innovation's licensing, emphasising her excellent type, conformation and movement. Grand-dam Athena, by Last Liberty, is also an elite and state premium mare, while great grand-dam Weidthene (by Waidgraf) carries some essential Thoroughbred stallions to add the much-needed blood to the pedigree. This dam line has produced several approved stallions and successful sport-horses, including Gio Gitano, Grand Gio, and Lasse III.
