About - Quaterback is a beautiful, immensely powerful stallion from one of the most exquisite dam lines in Germany. He is a phenomenal mover, and is particularly suited to blood mares of Thoroughbred or Trakehner breeding, or mares who need to be more reactive and sharper.

Performance - As a young horse, Quaterback proved his brilliance, winning the three-year-old final at the Bundeschampionat, scoring a 10.0 for rideability from both test riders, and the highest scores for trot and canter. At the time of his win, his owner Jürgen Müller was quoted as saying: "the judges said we should have given him 12 for the canter, we are sorry that it is only possible to give 10." He was outstanding in his performance test, finishing on a score of 8.89, having also been reserve champion of his licensing. He was competed sparingly, but with much success, up to small tour level, and in 2016 was proclaimed an elite stallion at a special ceremony at the Southern German licensing.

Sire - Quaterman I was the Reserve Champion of the Stallion Licensing at Neustadt and went on to win his stallion performance test. He qualified three times to compete at the Bundeschampionate, and has a reputation as a producer of foals with excellent movement. He competed right up to grand prix successfully during his career, and has produced many successful dressage and jumping horses. His sire Quando-Quando won his stallion performance test in 1998, and for many years he was among the top of the international dressage horses with his rider Kristy Oatly-Nist. He participated for Australia at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen in 2006 and at the Olympic Games in Hong Kong in 2008. His sire Quattro stems paternally from Qredo de Paulstra, who won the Grand Prix of Bordeaux, maternally from the legendary Furioso xx and was a successful international show jumper.  Quando Quando has already produced the sensational stallion Quantensprung, who finished third (and best stallion) in the 2015 Bundeschampionat.

Damline - Quaterback's dam Passionata is dressage royalty. Her dam Poesie is the dam of the record-breaking Sandro Hit mare, Poetin, who was a World Young Horse Champion and Bundeschampion as a six-year-old, before being sold for €2.5million at the 2012 PSI Auction. Her five full brothers, Samba Hit I-V, have all been licensed and two have competed successfully up to small tour, while a full sister, Poetin III, has produced two licensed sons, Quaterstern (by Quaterback himself) and Quaterhit (by the Quaterback son Quatergold). Other stallions descending from the mare line are Caprigold, Fruhtau, Qualiano, and Don Royal.

Progeny - Quaterback's progeny have been outstanding at young horse level, and the oldest offspring are now emerging at grand prix, including Bartlgut's Quebec, who has enjoyed anumber of small and big tour wins in Eastern Europe.

Quaterback is also renowned for his beautiful foals who sell very well; in 2008, he was the sire of the winner of the German Foal Championships, along with Foal Champions in Belgium, the USA, and other breeding districts in Germany. At the Verden Foal auction, a colt by Quaterback sold for €120,000, and that colt, Quasar de Charry, went on to win a premium at the Hanoverian licensing in 2010. In 2009, he was the sire of the Licensing Champion in Brandenburg-Anhalt, Quäntchen Glück, and the following year, supplied the Brandenburg Riding Horse Champion, Quadroneur, who is now competing at small tour level.

Quatergold was the dressage champion of the Brandenburg-Anhalt Licensing in 2010, and went on to be Reserve Champion at the Bundeschampionate in 2011. Quinzanos was the reserve champion of the Oldenburger Licensing in 2011, and Quotenkönig, who was a reserve champion at the Bundeschampionate in 2012, was reserve champion of the North-Rhein Westfalian licensing. Quaterstern won the Southern German Licensing in 2012.

Quaterback is the sire of 45 licensed sons, and in the Hanoverian Stallion Year Book of 2015, records show that Quaterback is the sire of 348 competitors, with collective winnings of over €62,000.
