About - Daniël is an up-and-coming international superstar, who is jumping at 1.60m grand prix level under Angelie von Essen. He is a compact, correct model, and his canter is balanced, powerful and light on the ground.
Performance - He has jumped in the international classes at Liverpool, HOYS, Hickstead, and Bolesworth, picking up top-10 placings at CSI3* and 4* level. He made his debut at grand prix level in 2017, jumping in the CSI5* GP of Brussels, the Longines Falsterbo Grand Prix, and the 5* GP of La Coruna and has consistently maintained his top placings at 5* level to date.
Sire - Heartbreaker was declared ‘Preferent’ in 2009 in recognition of his hugely successful offspring in the international scene. Heartbreaker himself was successful at grand prix level with Peter Geerink, and appeared on the WBFSH Sire Rankings for seven consecutive seasons (2009 - 2015). His influence in worldwide breeding is enormous. In the KWPN-studbook he has 10 approved sons and 14 approved grandsons. On the international scene, many of his offspring are competing at the highest level, including Bertram Allen’s Romanov II, who won four grands prix (Bordeaux, Dortmund, La Baule and Paris) in 2016. Also among his offspring are Zidane, ridden by Leopold van Asten, the approved stallions Cidane, Toulon, Zambesi and Actionbreaker, and Halifax van het Kluizebos, who has exploded onto the international scene in recent seasons and led the world rankings for several months. Heartbreaker is also the grandfather of World Young Horse Champion Earley (Harley VDL x Indorado x Indoctro VDL), but by far his best-known grandson is undoubtedly the prolific winner Hello Sanctos, by Quasimodo van de Molendreef. Team gold medallist (and individual fifth) at London 2012, Sanctos and Scott Brash made history in 2015 as the first (and only) winner of the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping; consecutive victories in the world's three most prestigious grands prix of Aachen, Geneva and Spruce Meadows, for a bonus of €1,000,000. Sanctos has also won six GCT Grands Prix, and Scott was twice winner of the GCT Global Champions Tour, largely thanks to the phenomenal success of this top horse. The pair have also won World Cup qualifiers in Wellington and Oslo, the Rolex IRJC Top Ten Final, and an individual bronze medal at the 2013 Europeans.
Damline - Daniël's damline has already produced the grand prix horses Budweiser, Ferrari, Westminster, and Bertram Allen’s Romanov. His dam has produced a second stallion son jumping at 1.30m level, and Daniël's full sister has also produced a 1.30m jumper.
Damsire Cavalier was one of the most successful KWPN stallions of his generation. Under the name San Patrignano Mister, he won more than 40 international classes under Franke Sloothaak, and retired to breeding in the Netherlands, where he produced a number of successful grand prix horses, the most well-known being the international showjumpers Tinello Isha ridden by Albert Voorn, Blushing Groom under John Popely, Illusion under Jörne Sprehe and FAN Cavala ridden by Eddie Macken. Cavalier sire Maykel also produced the Olympic jumper Felix, while his dam is from a very successful damline that produced the international jumpers Piccolino, Maltstriker, Oleandra, Pierrot, and Quadrifoglio.
Third sire Ekstein is from the world-famous 'Niki' line in KWPN breeding, and is responsible for a huge number of successful sport horses. Ekstein himself is the grand-sire of the brilliant Olympic gold medallist Hickstead, and produced many good horses including the licensed grand prix stallion, Impuls.
Progeny - He only has 3 offspring listed on Horsetelex but impressively all three have international results at 1.30m and above!
