Sire - His sire Emerald van ’t Ruytershof had an outstanding career, winning six silver medals at the World Championships for Young Jumping Horses. He was reserve champion as a six-year-old, and later competed for the Dutch team at the 2016 Rio Olympics, reaching the final, and finished second in the World Cup Final in Gothenburg. Ridden by Harrie Smolders, he achieved multiple international Grand Prix wins. In 2018, highlights included victories in Bordeaux and LGCT Cannes, second places in the World Cup Final in Paris and LGCT Doha, and third in the Rolex Grand Prix of ’s-Hertogenbosch.

Damline - Kartal’s Emerald dam Bella Donna was a highly successful mare ridden by Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum. She achieved top results in World Cup show jumping and Nations Cup competitions, and remarkably competed at the 2012 London Olympic Games at just nine years old. Her sire, Baldini II, also performed at Grand Prix level and was recognised as a strong-willed and outstanding athlete.
