Information

About & PerformanceApproved Oldenburg, Stargos VDL is a modern, light-footed and fantastic jumping stallion. Sired by Stakkato Gold and out of a mare by the popular Conthagros, followed by the renowned genes of Argentinus. Stargos VDL made a great impression at the Oldenburger Stallion Approvals; he stood out with his excellent jumping technique, especially a fantastic way of using is backend on the jump. Stargos VDL also showed lots of athletic ability, spectacular reflexes, he seems to be the textbook example of a modern showjumper.

Sire - Sire Stakkato Gold is one the best sons of his sire Stakkato who currently has more than thirty offspring competing at the international Grand Prix level. Stakkato Gold is known for passing on excellent reflexes, light-footedness and lots of quality over the fence. Stakkato Gold was champion of the jumping stallions at his licensing, and at his 30-day test in 2004 he scored 10.0 for his jumping ability, with a total score of 9.33. In his first jumping season, Stakkato Gold jumped in elementary and medium classes, scoring up to 8.7 and easily qualifying for the Bundeschampionat. The next year, he won his qualifier in Mepppen with a score of 9.0 - a rare achievement. His father Stakkato amazed the qualifier in 1998 with a score of 9.9 - never before awarded. Stakkato Gold was placed in many advanced competitions, and won the prestigious Young Horse Final in Neumünster under Jan Sprehe. He jumped up to 1.50m internationally, place fourth in the CSI2* in Oldenburg, before retiring to stud.

Damline -  In the mare line, Stargos VDL’s dam Carlotta is a daughter of the excellent broodmare Ebata. Not only has Ebata produced the 1.60m showjumper Carla de Balou ridden by Wolfgang Puschak and the 1.50m showjumper Call Me Diva ridden by Toni Hassmann, she is also the granddam to Grand Prix showjumper Landlady ridden by Dieter Smitz. Stargos VDL’s great-granddam Lugina jumped successfully at 1.40m level, and produced Montealban La Silla, an approved stallion in Mexico.

His damsire Conthargos is well on his way to becoming a true top sire. His eldest offspring are breaking through at the 1.60m level, and his youngsters are very popular in various actions and leading trading stables. For years, great-grandsire Argentinus has been one of the best sires of his generation with offspring such as Arko III, Air Jordan, Armitage, All Star, Special Ed and numerous others.
