About - D‘Egalité was one of the most talked-about stallions of all the German licensings in 2015. An absolute crowd favourite, he was the undisputed champion of the Westphalian licensing, despite suffering from an infection at the time. He is a tall, elegant stallion, of a very modern type, anf fluid, elastic movement.
Performance - After his licensing, D'Egalité was given time off to recover, and so when presented for his performance test, he had only been ridden a dozen times. Nevertheless, he thrilled the audience with his movement and especially with his outstanding type, which was rewarded with a score of 8.75. A score of 9.0 was given for his lovely character and temperament, and his willingness to perform and his canter scored 8.5, with his walk, trot anf rideability scoring 8.0.
Sire - Don Juan de Hus won his 70-day performance test at Schlieckau with a fantastic final dressage score of 9.25. As a four-year-old, he won the French Championships in Saumur under Jessica Michel. At the World Young Horse Championships, Don Juan de Hus finished sixth in the final. Through Jazz and Krack C, Don Juan de Hus unites proven Dutch dressage genes in his veins; the reverse of this cross produced Zhivago and Vivaldi.
Damline - The damsire Stedinger was the striking Champion Stallion at the Oldenburg licensing in 2002 and became first Reserve Champion of the main premium in 2004. Stedinger himself competed successfully up to Inter I classes and produced 39 licensed sons as well as 39 advanced (S) level dressage horses, including the international Grand Prix winner Spirit of the Age OLD/B. Brune. Third sire Rohdiamant is a grand prix stallion and a well-proven progenitor of grand prix horses.
Stedinger was the undisputed Champion of the Oldenburg licensing in 2002 and runner-up for the Hauptprämie title in 2004, awarded for the best first crop of foals. He competed at the 2005 Bundeschampionat, and enjoyed many victories at medium level. Stedinger was trained up to advanced, although his career was mainly focused on breeding. He produced more than 40 licensed sons as well as 40 advanced-level dressage horses, including the international grand prix winner Spirit of the Age OLD. He was exported to Australia but his frozen semen is still much in demand in Europe. D’Egalité descends from the dam line of Egale, which is also well-known for numerous licensed stallions such as the 2013 Oldenburg Champion Stallion Don Deluxe, and grand prix horses including London Eye OLD, as well as many elite broodmares.
