About - Caressini is a young stallion from excellent Westfalian lines, who has impressed in young horse classes and is an exciting prospect in sport and breeding. He has an easy, kind temperament and a huge, athletic jump.
Performance - Caressini won the Westfalian young horse championships as well as the national title with top marks in 2015. He received top marks for his rideability and jumping capabilities. At the 2015 Bundeschampionat in Warendorf, Caressini was the clear winner, with scores of 9.1 and 9.4. In January 2017, Caressini finished 7th in the final of the K&K Cup in Münster under Christian Kukuk.
Sire - The sire, Carento, is a son of Caretino. Through the stallions Contender and Lorenz we see a double connection in his pedigree to the Holsteiner legend, Cor de la Bryère. A full sister to Carento, Gut Neuenhof's Cantate, came 5th in the national young horse championships. Capriole, by Caretino, won her first advanced-level class as a seven-year-old, and the Westphalian jumping championship for mares in 2010. In 2011, Carento earned 7th place in the national championship for jumping horses and in 2012 was in the final again after earning 4th and 7th places in the qualifying rounds. He was only used sporadically for breeding, but as well as Caressini has two other licensed sons; the reserve Westphalian champion of 2015, Cariscar, and Caraldik, who has already been successful as an eventing horse and has qualified for the national young horse championships.
Damline - His dam U-Cassina (by Cassini I), was also born at the stud Gut Neuenhof, and in addition to Caressini has produced the licensed stallion Cronau (by Cristallo I). She was highly praised for her rideability and free jumping in her mare performance test, and earned a final score of a 9.5, after which she was used solely for breeding. The grand dam, St.Pr.St. Nena III (by Carthago Z) also performed exceptionally well in her mare performance test, and earned the maximum score of 10.0 in the loose jumping, and a 8.6 total score. Many other top horses from the 2004 Holsteiner line are currently active and successful in sport as well as breeding.
Progeny - Caressini’s first foals are arriving in 2017, and so far are impressing with their modern type, alert characters, and strong hindquarters.
