Information

About - There are very few stallions whose careers are distinguished by such continuous success as the career of Monte Bellini. From an enviable pedigree and with exceptional talent, this stallion has had an outstanding international career, and is now proving equally successful as a breeding stallion.

Performance - Monte Bellini was awarded a premium at the 2004 NRW licensing in Münster, and at his performance test in 2005, he finished as reserve champion. In 2007, piloted by Marco Kutscher, he convincingly took the five-year-old Bundeschampion title, and he then defended his title the following year as a six-year-old under Philipp Weishaupt. He enjoyed resounding success in the grands prix and Nations Cups of Rio de Janeiro, Cannes, Rome, Dublin, Bordeaux, Vigo, Gothenburg, Rotterdam (where he won the Longines GP), Aachen, Hamburg, Bremen, Braunschweig, Mannheim and Lyon, as well as fourth at the World Cup Final of 's-Hertogenbosch, Monte Bellini was nominated for the 2012 Olympic Games in London; unfortunately, he was unable to participate due to an injury.

Sire - His sire Montender won individual Olympic bronze in 2004 in Athens, in addition to team and individual gold at the European Championships in San Patrignano. One of the most successful of the Contender sons, Montender's record is impressive; gold at the 2003 German Championships in Gera, silver at the 2005 German Championships in Verden, as well as victories in the Nations Cups of Aachen, Barcelona, La Baule and Lucerne. The lines of Cor de la Bryère, Ramzes AA, Ladykiller xx, Cottage Son xx and Ferdinand - all stallions of the century - have left a time-tested genetic base for ability to jump, willingness to perform and rideability that is world class.

Damline - His dam Ramira collected more than 100 wins and placings in show jumping up to medium level before she became a broodmare. Her successful offspring, including the licensed Vice-Bundeschampion Conte Bellini, have won nearly €300,000 in prizemoney. Damsire Ramiro Z is a foundation sire of showjumpers, including the legendary mares Ratina Z, dam of Comme Il Faut, Renommee Z, dam of Amiro Z, and more than 140 licensed sons, among them Rio Negro, Zamiro, Rebel II Z, and Rascin.

Progeny - Monte Bellini's breeding record is impressive: 16 licensed sons, including Montario from his first crop who has already won advanced level show jumping competitions, and two other premium sons (Monte Bellino and C-Mocca D'Or). His offspring frequently qualify for the Bundeschampionat and his foals are quickly snatched up at auctions at home as well as abroad. His oldest offspring are now jumping internationally at Grand Prix level with much success, such as his daughter Mila who jumps 1.70m with Ludger Beerbaum.
