Information

About - Sandokan is an outstanding young jumping stallion with everything needed for the modern sport. He is a light, blood horse with perfect technique and abundant power. He jumps with absolute freedom through the shoulder and uses his whole body in an exemplary bascule.

Performance - His performances so far have been exceptional; he qualified for the 2013 Bundeschampionat on two scores of 9.5, and in the final he broke the 20-year record, winning easily on fantastic scores of 9.5 and 9.7, dominating from beginning to end. In his stallion performance test, he scored a perfect 10.0 for loose-jumping. In 2016, he was second in the Mannheim CSIYH1*, and jumped numerous clear rounds in classes at 1.40m level.

Sire - Sandokan's pedigree combines two Bundeschampions. His sire Stakkato was Bundeschampion in 1998, and led the German Federation's sire rankings for 12 consecutive seasons. With Eva Bitter, Stakkato won the Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships, and in 2003 and 2010, they won the German Ladies Title. Stakkato stood at the State Stud Celle, and it was due to his exceptional abilities that he continued competing right up to grand prix level, an unusual career path for a Celle stallion at the time. In 2007, he was Hanoverian Stallion of the Year, and his lifetime earnings totalled over €240,000, while his 40 grand prix offspring have collectively earned in excess of €2million. He has sired more than 90 licensed stalloons, at least 12 of which have been awarded premiums.

Damline - Damsire Landor S was Bundeschampion as a six-year-old in 1997. He competed successfully up to 1.50m level and was later named Oldenburg Sire of the Year. His dam Fureida II was the foundation mare of a jumping dynasty. Her first foal Laertes was an advanced jumping horse with many wins with his breeder Gerd Sosath in the saddle. She then produced Landwerder, also a licensed stallion, exported to the United States (where he went by the name of Silver Lining). Fureida was royally bred, being by Godehard, the most successful son of the pinnacle of Hanoverian jumping breeding, Gotthard, out of a mare by the celebrated Furioso II. The reverse of this cross produced the legendary Voltaire. After Landor S, her next foal was Lagoheidor, who won the Oldenburg stallion licensing in 1994, and the following year topped his performance test. In 2000, Fureida gave birth to her fourth licensed stallion son, Corioso by Corofino I. Landor S is the sire of more than 30 grand prix jumpers, including London Olympic individual bronze medallist, Blue Loyd 12, and 40 licensed sons.

Progeny - Sandokan's early foals are light models and similar in type to their sire. They move well, are light on the ground and with a quick, pushing hindleg.
